A Quarantine Daydream in ‘Fields Very Green and Very Peaceful’

Lately I’ve been reading novels as a form of armchair traveling. If I can’t go anywhere in real life, I might as well go there in fiction. My summer reading flitted from continent to continent, but as the heat abated in September, I turned my attention to the cool fields of County Clare, Ireland, where my grandfather was born and raised.
